Hey, I'm Milind. I'm a product engineer who likes building software that feels clear, fast, and worth using twice.
Most recently, I worked on AI chat products at Merlin AI, building and refining core experiences across onboarding, history, and model selection. That work pushed me deeper into the kind of product engineering I care about most: making complex AI workflows feel responsive, legible, and a little more human.
A lot of what pulls me in lives at the intersection of interface craft and product clarity: motion that explains, systems that stay out of the way, and interactions that make complex tools feel easier than they should. I've spent time inside hiring and assessment products, internal operations tooling, and early-stage startup systems where shipping quickly only matters if the thing still feels thoughtful.
Earlier in my career, I was a Research Assistant at NYCU, and worked on real-time visualization systems for Locus Connect, a university-incubated startup in the same space. That gave me a useful mix of frontend, infrastructure, and research exposure, including work on systems that improved positioning accuracy to under 10 cm and turned messy real-world data into something people could actually understand.
Outside of work, I build tools I personally want on the internet, contribute to Vercel's Streamdown Library, and keep a close eye on how product, design, and engineering overlap. I'm usually drawn to things that need both taste and implementation discipline, not just one of them.
I also give talks at React meetups about interface systems, motion, and AI for frontend developers. It's a good excuse to think in public and share the patterns I'm learning while building. I've started keeping a quiet archive of those slides here.
If you want to talk product, React, interaction design, or building software with stronger taste, I'm on X, GitHub, and LinkedIn. Or just book some time.
